Applying Fundamentals of Removable Prosthodontics in the 21st Century

Dr. Ashman received his Doctor of Dental Surgery and Certificate in Proshodontics and General Dentistry and Prosthodontics at Emory University.  He is a Professor of Dental Medicine at Roseman Univeristy College of Dental Medicine.  Responsibilities include Curriculum development for Occlusion, Dental Materials, Dental Anatomy, Fixed Prosthodontics, Removable Prosthodontics and Implant Prosthodontics. Instruction of students in classroom, preclinical simulation laboratory and in clinic in these disciplines.

This course will review the fundametal principles and practices in the diagnosis and treatment of partial and complete edentulism. The application of these fundamentals to the emerging technologies in the dental marketplace to enhance the efficiency and success of treating patients missing some or all of their teeth.


1. Treatment plan removable prosthodontic treatment for partially and completely edentulous patients.
2. Design removable partial denture frameworks based on sound evidence and physics
3. Understand how new technologies will aid the dentist and technician in providing more accurate, more comfortable removable prostheses
4. Receive a working knowledge on verbal skills to present removable prosthodontic options to patients who may be considering other options for the replacement of missing teeth

The Continuing Education Advisory Committee operates under the supervision and direction of both the Dean and the Associate Dean of Academic Affairs of Roseman University School of Dental Medicine.  Scientific Evidence and recommendations are benchmarked through a strategy of committee review, which is guided by principles distilled through CONSORT and GRADE systems.

Participants and providers of our program generate and maintain a critical role in our vision to administer professional education through adapting and updating dental professionals to legitimate changes in the environment of dental care. Cooperation of highly skilled professionals within our rubric leads to the fundamental health and success of our vital program.

Our expertise will broadcast on multiple levels via inter-collegial affiliations and through the local national and international dental markets.
